What inspired my team and I to build this project was, due to the amount of CSE students at UB that struggle with the tracing tool. As during our first semester of CSE 115 where we were first introduced to the tracing tool it was very much confusing. Therefore we did not want current or future CSE students to struggle with it as we once did. The beginning of the spark of the Advanced Code Checker begun. As we built our project we brainstormed the ideas of what features we would need to add to bring more life to the tracing tool and to make it easier to use. One of the first things we added was the ability of more color. Research shows that the use of more color sparks the creativity in the brain. Creativity is a crucial point into Computer Science which mainly leads to more problem solving. Also in our tracing tool we wanted to be able to run the code inside the tracing tool which the current tracing tool does not allow you to do. During our process of building the project of the Advanced Code Checker we've faced many challenges, such as the words we would type being behind the cursor, the failure of certain buttons operating right, alignment of buttons, complier creation difficulty, presentation of metrics, and many more. Throughout the entire process we've learned to problem solve the issues we were facing, and too overcome and play off of each others ideas to build a stronger foundation for our project. We lastly hope that this Advance Code Checker will be used by future and current CSE students to enhanced there skills.
