Inspiration

As an emerging young adult, I've seen and heard horror stories about the complexities and hardships of dealing with legal documents and paying taxes. Throughout my childhood, I've seen how my family has struggled with the paperwork to keep us afloat. Furthermore, the idea and execution of AI has inspired me with its ability to automate productivity and help people feel more confident navigating real life, my family in particular has also used AI to help with several things including paperwork assistance and proper formatting. So with a dedication to help my community, a hope for a smoother legal document processing, and a little fear for how I would be able manage by myself as an adult, I created Adulting AI, a friend and mentor for all legal battles in the paper shredding world.

What it does

The core goal of Adulting AI is simple, it turns confusing paperwork into clear, actionable guidance using AI.

Users can upload or paste a document and instantly receive:

• a plain-English summary
• important key points
• risks and red flags
• deadlines or urgent actions
• beginner-friendly explanations
• personalized next steps

How we built it

I built it only by using natural language with detailed prompts for the structure, features, and function of the app and I also used generative AI to create images for designing.

Challenges we ran into

I'm going into this challenge with a few days left and a busy schedule so as a beginner at hackathons in general, time and patience for utilizing credits while experimenting building the app was my main challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud to create my first app using an AI and it's remarkable for me how it all came out to be how I wanted despite a few desired tweaks here and there in terms of design flexibility.

What we learned

I learned a lot about the complex abilities of AI once again, also learning how code and its systems is divided into different sections to create one whole app that is ready to run quickly.

What's next for Adulting AI

In the bright and hopeful future, with budget, some connections, and a full research, design and programming team, Adulting AI may be able to be legally affiliated with the government and certifiably be able to make legal processing smoother and more accessible to all in terms of better understanding and managing.
