Declining ad revenue

People love content, but they hate ads. They hate ads so much they block them. However people do not want to pay content. Most users believe that they can get all content for free. But there is no free content. Every character costs money to be typed and to be displayed. Essentially there is no free content

Makes ads more relevant shows that there is no free content

AdSparency, which is a back end solution for content creators, allows to put a price tag on every article. This way it will be obvious for the users how much content creation actually costs. It also shows how much ads make on a specific content site. Displaying the two info side by side users will see if an article made enough money for the content creator to continue delivering. Using a unique link to ad providers the backend allows content creators to hand pick relevant ads and ad formats based on tags. They see what the expected revenue and expected relevancy from the different ad servers, like google, media-impact, spotify etc. could be and decide where to display ads from. A webite with AdSparency enabled would display a message if an adblocker is detected, explaining how ads on this pge are complementing the content.

With hard work and coffein

We pitched the ideas, filtered out the features we could actually deliver in such a short time and with the help of some amazing Dutch back end developers it was brought to life.

Integrate with more ad providers add actual ad costs

Currently AdSparency displays price estimates for the per click revenue made from an ad. Real transparency would be achieved if there would be a price calculation for the actual click price.
