Inspiration
We've noticed a trend of ignorance circulating around environmental issues in our country and we believe that the solution is to educate the younger generation in hopes that they will do better.
What it does
You're able to follow an educational interactive story that's dynamic and hopes to teach you a lesson in the end.
How I built it
We used a combination of HTML CSS and Javascript and PNGs.
Challenges I ran into
Javascript! It was definitely the most difficult task to take on. Also, accepting that some things were just not going to be possible given our time frame and experience. Finally, trying to achieve certain things with CSS proved to be difficult.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We're very proud of the original artwork and CSS elements included creating a more user-friendly and fun experience.
What I learned
We learned a lot of new CSS and HTML features that we didn't know were possible. We also had two members who had no experience with HTML CSS or JS before this hackathon, so they learned A LOT! We've all been encouraged to learn more after this.
What's next for Adrian's Adventure
We hope to further expand this website by including a Spanish version since we are Hispanic and would like to reach a wider audience. We'd also eventually like to add multiple stories or games that will cover a wide range of topics to educate children. Knowledge is power!
