Inspiration
We’ve all paid full price for a meal only to find a 50% off code minutes later. We wanted a "deal-obsessed friend" who scans the internet 24/7 so we never miss a win again.
What it does
Adrian hunts through X and Reddit for food promos. It uses AI to trash the marketing fluff and sends verified, active codes straight to your Telegram.
How we built it
Built with a Python core, we used Playwright to scrape X and Claude Haiku to power the filtering and conversational intent. Everything runs on an automated 30-minute loop.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest headache was X’s aggressive scraping blocks. We also had to fine-tune the AI’s "strictness" so it wouldn't alert users about expired deals or generic brand "vibe" posts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re hyped that the AI can actually tell the difference between a user complaining about fees and a legitimate BOGO offer. The bot feels like a real assistant, not a spam machine.
What we learned
We leveled up on real-time data pipelines and learned how to use LLMs as a "logical gate" to keep a high-speed data stream clean and actually useful for the end user.
What's next for adrian
We want to expand Adrian beyond food into electronics and travel categories. We're also looking at better location-tagging to find hyper-local deals at the coffee shop down the street.
