AdoptionAllies

Inspiration

All our team members loves animals and thought it would be a great idea to create a program that matches pet-lovers to animals that they would love to adopt and to help find a home for all the lovely animals!

What it does

It allows users to input the preference and types of animals that they are interested in adopting. Based on their response on a short survey, the program will display the pets that matches their preference and is available for adoption to match the potential pet owner with their favorite animals!

How we built it

We built the backend using python and django and frontend using javascript, html and css.

Challenges we ran into

We found it hard to connect the front and back end for it to work together and also implement multiple htmls for different stages of the program.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to be able to present the program and have it run the way we wanted it to be with tools that we were not familiar with including django.

What we learned

We learned to use django to store data and post it when requested

What's next for AdoptionAllies

We will be adding more various types of animals and more features that the users can add to their preference so they can get a better matching of pet!
