A common problem faced by local governments / cities / public organizations is how to effectively engage their community members/citizens in helping the organization in a meaningful way. How do citizens report things to the city without going out of the way? How does city save money by using power of mobile phones (sensors) to keep up maintenance of public assets and infrastructures.
We have come up with this idea of a civic app called "Adopt-A-Path" for monitoring assets and infrastructure while promoting healthy lifestyle, local business and most importantly citizen engagement.
This solution has apps for end users (citizens), web based dashboard (creation and monitoring) for organization and scope for backend integration to existing work-order/reporting systems already being used via web-hooks or Rest API.
The proposed solution is flexible for a SAAS offering and can be used in a variety of use cases. We are presenting one such use case of public asset monitoring.
