Inspiration
We love dogs (and cats) but found it hard to find an adoptable pet in our area.
What it does
It provides the user with an adoptable ready cute pet near his location, based on the user requested filters.
How we built it
We used Petfinder's APIs to find the pets, and Conversation.one to develop the conversational flow and business logic.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the images are not displayed well on the Echo Show screen.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One day after we launched the skill, we already know of at least one dog that was adopted using the skill.
What we learned
A screen is important, but we built a good experience also with voice only.
What's next for Adopt a Friend
More areas (currently only Canada and the US). More general data on pets.
