Inspiration
Every year 30 000 dogs are abandoned. That's and this is a way we thought we could fix it instead of these dogs going to a shelter they would go to a new home :)
What it does
It's a peer-to-peer system so people can transfer ownership to people that want dogs so that shelters can focus on those that need help. There are 2 accounts one for owners,
How we built it
Sketch in Figma, then made the front end (HTML, CSS, Javascript), Django on the back end, SQL lite for our database as it ties into Django amazingly
Challenges we ran into
No one knew backend, so we had to learn, we had to figure out how to make user accounts and use Django. (It's written in python but omg is it different)
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning Django was huge, we can really start to see how powerful it is, we got user accounts working not that they do much but hey there is an SHA 256 with a salt, password in our database for each user
What we learned
Django was huge to learn, on the front end we learnt about UI/UX design and how to plan a project
