Introducing Our Dual Solutions: Adobe Express AI Content Studio & Looker Analyzer

We built Adobe Express AI Content Studio as our primary solution to help creators generate powerful marketing content instantly inside Express. Complementing this, our Looker AI Analyzer adds smart campaign insights—making strategy and creativity work.

Inspiration

We are entering the Generation AI era, where intelligent agents are beginning to live both virtually and physically in our world. With millions of users creating digital content every day, I envisioned an AI agent — not just a tool, but a creative partner — fully integrated into Adobe Express. I wanted to build something that could empower millions of marketers and content creators to generate better content: Creatively In less time With more accuracy By building this, I didn't just want to solve a problem — I wanted to be part of the GenAI innovation breakthrough that changes how content is created across platforms. bold for AI Looker analyzer: Also, we noticed how marketers often juggle between CSV files, dashboards, and creative tools—wasting time and missing insights. We wanted to fix that right inside Adobe Express.

What it does

So, we built Content Genius — an AI-powered Adobe Express Add-on that turns your campaign idea into mind-blowing content… instantly! Just enter a few words, and ContentGenius uses secure, prompt-engineered Gemini AI to generate: Captions Hashtags CTAs (Call-To-Actions) perfectly tuned for Instagram, LinkedIn, or Twitter. But it’s more than just automation. “This isn’t just about saving time — it’s about unlocking creativity.” It helps creators become better writers, faster — without losing their brand’s tone or authenticity. Because it’s built inside Adobe Express, you can: Instantly insert content into your canvas Pair it with beautiful templates, visuals, and share-ready designs Share across multiple platforms — seamlessly bold for AI Looker analyzer: Marketing Performance Analyzer turns raw CSV campaign data into AI-powered summaries, shows Looker dashboards, and generates instant content tips—all inside the Express editor.

How we built it

We started by mapping the architecture and understanding the Adobe Add-on framework and its development environment. -----We discovered that Adobe Express Add-ons support:---- A Document JS Sandbox, which allows us to insert and manipulate canvas elements programmatically. An iframe-based UI, built with custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — giving us full control over user experience. The use of runtime.apiProxy() to securely bridge communication between the iframe (UI) and the document sandbox (canvas logic).

-----To enable this, we:----- Imported the Add-on UI SDK to build our interactive frontend and listen for user actions. Used the Add-on Sandbox SDK to access the runtime environment of the document. Utilized the Express Document SDK, which gave us access to canvas manipulation features like creating and modifying text objects. Accessed the document sandbox runtime using const { runtime } = addOnSandboxSdk.instance, enabling us to expose and call functions between contexts securely.

This integration allowed us to insert generated content directly into the Express canvas, turning our UI into a real-time creative engine for content marketers.

bold for AI Looker analyzer: We used the Adobe Express Add-on SDK, embedded Looker dashboards via iframe, and parsed CSVs in the UI. Then we used AI logic to summarize data and inserted tips using editor.insertText().

Challenges we ran into

We faced several challenges, especially around:

Parsing Gemini’s AI output correctly Handling document.js integration with the canvas Engineering clear and context-aware AI prompts Styling issues when replicating Tailwind-based design into vanilla CSS At one point, inserting into the canvas didn’t work due to selection context issues. But we introduced a copy button as fallback, which gave users flexibility while we debugged canvas API behavior.

Every challenge gave us multiple solution paths — and showed us how creativity meets engineering.

bold for AI Looker analyzer: Getting the sandbox communication right between iframe and document.js was tricky. We also debugged insertText positioning and handled unexpected data formats from real CSVs.
