💡 Inspiration

At NJ Blogs, we believe that everyone has a story worth sharing. We were inspired to join the Adobe Express Add-ons Hackathon to make content creation even more accessible, especially for bloggers, educators, and storytellers from underrepresented communities. Our goal: empower creativity without needing complex design skills.

🚀 What it does

Our Adobe Express Add-on, “InstaWriter by NJ Blogs”, offers AI-assisted blog content blocks that users can drag and drop into Adobe Express templates. It generates:

  • Blog headlines
  • Story starters
  • Quote overlays
  • CTA buttons All tailored in real-time using contextual prompts and tone settings like “motivational,” “educational,” or “storytelling.”

🛠️ How we built it

We used:

  • Adobe Express Add-ons SDK for integration
  • JavaScript + Node.js for logic and UI rendering
  • Google Gemini API for AI-powered text generation
  • Firebase to log user interactions and feedback

We designed everything with a mobile-first mindset, so creators on-the-go can use it seamlessly within Adobe Express.

😅 Challenges we ran into

  • Understanding the event-based flow of Adobe Express Add-ons SDK
  • Designing an intuitive UX for non-technical users
  • Managing API response time from the AI model to keep the experience fluid
  • Ensuring the content generated was both creative and relevant for diverse blog niches

  • Successfully integrated a working AI-powered content generator into Adobe Express Created a eady-to-publish story builder in just a few clicks
  • Made a tool that aligns with the mission of NJ Blogs: to educate, inspire, and empower creators globally
  • Got positive early feedback from beta testers—especially first-time content creators!
