Inspiration
Applying to universities worldwide is complex, fragmented, and unequal. Students face thousands of programs, deadlines, and essays, while access to high-quality admissions guidance depends heavily on cost and geography. We wanted to build an AI system that makes expert-level admissions support scalable and accessible to everyone.
What it does
AdmitPlus.AI is an AI-powered, end-to-end admissions platform that helps students plan, match, and apply to global universities. It combines university matching, application strategy, and essay support through coordinated AI agents that work together across the full application lifecycle.
How we built it
We built AdmitPlus.AI using Gemini models and a multi-agent architecture. Each agent is responsible for a specific cognitive task—matching, strategy, essays, or operations—and operates on structured data backed by retrieval from a global university knowledge base. The backend is implemented in Python using cloud-native infrastructure.
Challenges we ran into
Our biggest challenges were: • Reducing hallucinations in high-stakes decisions • Structuring and maintaining global university data at scale • Coordinating multiple agents reliably across long, multi-step application workflows
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working multi-agent admissions operating system, backed by a proprietary global university knowledge base, and validated it in real agency workflows—demonstrating that AI agents can handle complex, real-world education decisions, not just isolated tasks.
What we learned
We learned that agent-based systems with clear roles, shared context, and grounded knowledge consistently outperform single-prompt or chatbot-style approaches for complex, multi-step reasoning problems.
What's next for AdmitPlus.AI
Next, we plan to expand global university coverage, improve agent reasoning and evaluation, and deliver more personalized guidance for students, agencies, and educational partners—moving closer to an AI operating system for global education services.
