Inspiration

Business-in-a-box offered an Ai chat bot challenge which inspired us to create a friendly chatting bot.

What it does

ADM-Ai answers simple questions and responds accordingly to your message.

How we built it

We used our "strong" Comp 202 knowledge together to create this web/desktop app. We thus consulted online ressources such as TechWithTim's youtube tutorials, Kivy documentation and Flask documentation. .

Challenges we ran into

As first-year students at McGill in CS, we faced different challenges such as front-end and back-end relations, packaging a Python project, setting the virtual environment, working with several new frameworks and API's, etc. However, we were determined hackers and pursued our goal of finishing our Chat Bot application.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are quite proud of being able to show a finished product as hackathon newbies. Creating the front-end was definitely a challenge as we are mostly used to solving logic problems with Python algorithms.

What we learned

We learned about the different steps in building a project as a team; coordinating our efforts together so it all comes together in a finished product in the end. We also learned to work with different Python frameworks and packages and to combine their utilities together.

What's next for ADM-AI Chat Bot

ADM-Ai Chat Bot will probably stay as a medal of our first collective project in Computer Science. We have planned to upload it in a cloud-based server and set it up as a web app as well.
