💡 Inspiration
In many homes, useful items remain unused while others are needed. Inspired by the traditional concept of adla-badli (barter), we wanted to modernize this trust-based exchange system using AI to make it fair, simple, and accessible.
🚀 What it does
AdlaBadli-AI is an AI-powered barter platform that helps users exchange goods without money. It suggests fair matches, estimates item value, enables real-time negotiation, and builds trust through reputation scores.
🛠 How we built it
Built using React + Tailwind CSS for the frontend, Node.js & Express for the backend, and MongoDB for data storage. We integrated Gemini AI for value estimation and matching, and Socket.io for real-time chat and negotiation.
⚡ Challenges we ran into
Creating fair value estimation was challenging due to subjective item worth. Ensuring trust, preventing fake listings, and maintaining fast AI recommendations were key hurdles.
🏆 Accomplishments that we're proud of
Digitized a traditional barter system
Built AI-based fair exchange matching
Designed a trust & reputation mechanism
Delivered a clean and intuitive user experience
📚 What we learned
We gained hands-on experience in AI-assisted decision systems, real-time communication, and building secure, user-focused platforms that solve real-world problems.
🔮 What's next for AdlaBadli-AI
Next, we plan to add location-based matching, improve AI accuracy, enable logistics support, and launch multilingual and mobile support for wider accessibility.
