Inspiration

I'm passionate about public health, but limited time can hold me back, I'm a busy ADEIN ambassador juggling tasks on a laptop and phone, so we proposed building the ADEIN Ambassador Virtual Assistant (VAssistant) using Vertex AI Agent Builder to free me some time for family and friends.

This no/low-code conversational AI agent will empower ADEIN ambassadors by providing instant access to information, automating tasks, and streamlining communication.

This project aims to answer that question, so we decided to develop a functional AI Virtual Assistant specially designed to support ADEIN ambassadors in their various tasks and activities. The Virtual assistant will leverage the power of Generative Pre-trained Transformer ( GPT) technology, specially leveraging Gemini on vertex AI on Google Cloud platform, to process information and respond to queries in a comprehensive and informative way

What it does

This project aligns perfectly with the Knowledge Bot category and offers a unique solution tailored to the needs of ADEIN ambassadors.

Information Retrieval Ability to answer questions about ADEIN, its mission, programs, resources, and ambassador guidelines, drawing information from the ambassador playbook and other designated sources.

Task Automation Assist with scheduling meetings, setting reminders, and managing basic communication tasks.

Content Creation Draft emails, reports, and social media posts based on user prompts and guidelines.

Multilingual Communication Provide information and complete tasks in all African languages, promoting accessibility and inclusivity.

How we built it

Vertex AI Agent Builder: We leveraged the intuitive interface of Vertex AI Agent Builder to create the conversational flow and train the AI agent.

Dialogflow Integration: The VAssistant was integrated with Dialogflow for natural language understanding and response generation.

Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) Technology: We explored integrating a pre-trained GPT model like Gemini for advanced text generation capabilities.

API Integration: VAssistant connected with APIs for scheduling meetings and sending emails. Web Interface: We build simple HTML5 and CSS page to host the script.

What's next for AAVA
