Inspiration
We concentrated on establishing a practical solution for mental health concerns and a community centered around guidance and support throughout the brainstorming process. This application is inspired by people worldwide who were frustrated by their inability to seek aid. We aim to make the process easier and create a community to support and encourage them.
❓What it does
Users may ask questions, discuss their experiences, and share their issues, and other users can offer advice or Inspiration to help and encourage them.
We also planned to have a machine learning/AI system to detect spam and erase negative comments or posts.
How we built it
We built Addvice's frontend using HTML, CSS, Javascript, TailwindCSS, Backend using Flask, Used CockroachDB as our database, and Auth0 for authentication.
Challenges we ran into
We could not integrate CockroachDB and Auth0 into our project since it was our first time using them, but we made it all work. The most difficult challenge we faced was keeping the discussion section async.
✅Accomplishments that we're proud of✅
We're excited to put together a solution that will assist individuals in relieving their stress while also helping others. We believe that by assisting and inspiring others, our application will serve to alleviate people's troubles all across the world.
What we learned
We learned a lot this weekend. We learned —
- How to develop fast, scalable, and simple web applications with Flask and TailwindCSS.
- How to secure our application by implementing authentication from auth0.
- How using Flask helps us build backends faster. Finally, we learned a lot from each other and Treasure hacks over the weekend.
What's next for Addvice
We want to improve this platform and work with users to make it a genuine free product that benefits everyone while also introducing new features and improvements.
