Addiu o Soccia” unfolds as an intimate farewell rendered on an epic, symbolic scale. In a world where stone remembers and paths seem older than those who walk them, a small group steps away from their sunlit origin toward an unnamed elsewhere. Each passage — the village, the bridge, the peak — becomes a metaphor: the home, the crossing, the threshold. Beyond the summit lies the vastness that mirrors separation itself.

How we built it

The imagery was generated with Hailuo AI, Kling Ai and Dreamina AI, blending: The montage was composed around the neo-classical reorchestration of the chant: each shift in light mirrors the musical phrasing, turning the farewell into a slow cosmic bloom.

Challenges we ran into

The core difficulty was giving mythic scope to an intimate goodbye. We had to shape a world that felt timeless with a touch of fantasy and mythology, without overwriting the emotional truth of the original chant. Another challenge was pacing: the film moves through four distinct “worlds” while maintaining a continuous emotional thread. Finally, creating a cosmic finale that felt tragic and contemplative.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a farewell that feels both ancestral and otherworldly. The transition from warm village light to cosmic emptiness forms a powerful emotional arc.

What we learned

We reaffirmed how traditional Corsican texts can open into immense narrative universes. The project deepened our ability to translate light into emotion, following Storaro’s philosophy, and to use world-building as a mirror of psychological states. We refined our craft in balancing rusticity, spirituality, and the sublime scale of exile.

What's next for Addiu o Soccia

Addiu o Soccia is part of the Corsican Anthologies cycle, reinforcing its thematic strand on exile, belonging, and mythic transitions. It should be later adapted into a live performance project, where music, light, and large-scale projections will recreate the journey from Soccia to the stars as a fully immersive experience.
