Addapet

A user-friendly interface that connects adoption centers with users. Users are able to show interest in the animal on their screen with a tap of a button.

Inspiration

We wanted to tackle a social issue but with a twist. Pulling in other influences of apps in order to better the interactions of the website for the cause. We looked at dating apps that take the whole screen to promote the person at their best. We are reflecting this on animals as we are promoting them.

What it does

Our app allows the user to look and find the closes adoption agencies in order to find and "swipe" through potential adoption. You are able to like and from that obtain a list of pets you are interested in.

How we built it

We used react with bootstrap for the back end. Our database is cockaroachdb

What we learned

Learned a lot regarding about react due from the workshops. We learned and experienced what it is like to work on a team. We learned a lot about git and how to push and pull changes.

Monetization/ better filtering systems for the user/ Support for the animals/ Connect through call
