Inspiration

As someone who personally struggles with focus, I often find it hard to stay on track — even with simple tasks. That challenge sparked the idea for ADaptly. I wanted to create something that could help not just me, but others — especially people with ADHD — adapt and thrive in their daily routines by breaking down tasks and tracking emotional patterns with gentle support.

What it does

ADaptly is a focus-friendly productivity app designed to support people with ADHD or anyone who finds it hard to concentrate. It brings together: ⏱ Pomodoro timer to improve focus through time-boxed sessions ✅ Task manager to structure what needs to be done, one step at a time 📈 Ranking system to gamify consistency and progress 🎭 Mood tracker to reflect on how you're feeling over time It helps users stay on task, track how they feel, and build momentum in a way that feels empowering, not overwhelming.

How we built it

We built ADaptly using the modern and powerful Next.js framework through Bolt.new for fast project scaffolding. The backend is powered by Supabase, which handles authentication, real-time database, and API access — all without the need for custom servers. The app is fully deployed on Netlify, making it fast, responsive, and scalable. Key technologies: Next.js (Pages Router) for frontend and backend logic Supabase for database, auth, and real-time updates Tailwind CSS for a clean and distraction-free design Netlify for seamless deployment and hosting Custom logic was implemented for the Pomodoro timer, task manager, mood tracker, and a ranking system to motivate daily progress.

Challenges we ran into

Creating a layout that’s clean and calm — crucial for ADHD users Managing real-time state (e.g. timers and mood updates) across session Designing a ranking system that feels encouraging, not pressuring

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Fully functional MVP with Pomodoro, tasks, mood tracking, and ranking Smooth and fast UX thanks to the synergy between Next.js and Supabase Building a meaningful app rooted in personal experience and empathy

What we learned

We learned how easy and fast it is to build full-stack apps using Bolt.new combined with Supabase — a powerful backend solution that includes built-in authentication, real-time data, and automatic OAuth support right out of the box. This stack helped us focus more on solving real problems instead of setting up infrastructure.

What's next for Adaptly

At the moment, we don’t have concrete plans for what’s next — unless inspiration strikes again in the future. But we’re excited by the potential and open to where it could lead.
