Inspiration
Many people struggle to stay consistent while juggling multiple goals at the same time — whether it’s fitness, learning, career growth, or personal development. Most productivity apps either overwhelm users with long-term planning or focus on only a single habit. We wanted to create something that feels human: a system that adapts daily based on how you’re actually doing.
That’s how Adaptiv was born — an adaptive daily goal coach that breaks big ambitions into manageable daily actions while adjusting the journey based on energy, progress, and consistency.
What it does
Adaptiv helps users manage multiple goals simultaneously through personalized one-day-at-a-time planning.
Users can:
- Create multiple goals with custom daily time availability
- Receive AI-generated daily tasks for each goal
- Track progress, streaks, and completion rates
- Complete daily check-ins with energy and progress feedback
- Get adaptive task adjustments based on performance and motivation levels
- View dynamic roadmaps and estimated completion timelines
Instead of overwhelming users with months of planning, Adaptiv focuses on helping them win today.
How we built it
We designed Adaptiv as a structured multi-page web application with:
- Authentication system for secure onboarding
- Goal management workflows
- Adaptive roadmap generation engine
- Daily check-in system
- Progress analytics dashboard
The core logic revolves around:
- Breaking goals into actionable daily tasks
- Dynamically adjusting task difficulty and duration
- Maintaining independent streaks and progress tracking for each goal
- Recalculating completion timelines after every check-in
We also designed a motivational feedback system that reacts contextually to user behavior, such as low-energy days, streak milestones, or skipped tasks.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges was designing the adaptive planning engine. We had to ensure the system:
- Adjusts intelligently without becoming too aggressive or too easy
- Handles multiple goals independently
- Maintains motivation while still encouraging progress
Another challenge was balancing visibility and overwhelm. We intentionally limited future task visibility so users stay focused on the present instead of stressing about the entire roadmap.
We also had to think carefully about edge cases like:
- Multiple skipped days
- Changing daily availability mid-goal
- Extremely long goals
- Managing too many active goals at once
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re proud that Adaptiv feels more supportive than traditional productivity tools.
Some highlights include:
- A fully adaptive daily planning system
- Independent progress tracking for multiple goals
- Dynamic roadmap regeneration logic
- Context-aware motivational feedback
- Clean goal-focused user experience designed to reduce overwhelm
We’re especially proud of the “today-first” philosophy — helping users focus on consistent small wins instead of intimidating long-term plans.
What we learned
Through building Adaptiv, we learned:
- Productivity is deeply connected to energy and emotional state
- Users need flexibility, not rigid systems
- Small adaptive changes can greatly improve consistency
- Simplicity in UX is critical for motivation-focused products
We also gained experience designing scalable adaptive logic and structuring personalized workflows around user behavior.
What's next for Adaptiv
In the future, we want to expand Adaptiv with:
- AI-powered smarter task generation
- Calendar integrations
- Advanced analytics and predictive insights
- Social accountability features
- Gamification systems
- Cross-device syncing and notifications
- Goal templates and guided journeys
- Wearable and fitness tracker integrations
Our long-term vision is to make Adaptiv a personal AI growth companion that evolves with every user’s lifestyle and ambitions.
