Inspiration
We wanted to build a project that worked with education and artificial intelligence.
What it does
The project has a quiz that users would take to determine their preferred learning styles (visual, audio, reading/writing). With this data, the user could use our AI to answer questions about whatever they wanted to learn and have the AI tailor the experience to their best suited learning styles.
How we built it
We used TypeScript, CSS, and JavaScript to create a website to host our program, Python was used in combination with MongoDB to store data in the back end of our application. Led by Talal
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of issues when trying to integrate MongoDB to the rest of the frame work, as well as the Groq AI. There were a lot of challenges when we used different coding styles and different coding methods and had to amalgamate all the code into one cohesive project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Since there were 3 first time hackers on our team, we are very proud to deliver a complete product that functions as advertised. The process of putting together the front and back ends of the project was also big milestones to reach. Our team maintained a positive outlook even as everyone became more sleep deprived and stressed with the looming deadline. We stuck together through all the difficult coding challenges we faced, and we still made time to network with fellow hackers and volunteers on the way.
What we learned
We learned the importance of having a well planned out idea before starting a project, we learned a lot about using AI wrappers and how , and the importance of helping your teammates to reach a common goal.
What's next for Simplified Learning
While we were brainstorming ideas, there were a few that were interesting but defiantly outside of the scope of a hackathon. For instance, augmented reality to cover kinesthetic learning (hands on learning style), or even making our own LLM to predict the learning style of the user.
