Adaptest

The Origin Story

I recently took a few classes at the Psych Department at UCLA. I was introduced to the countless studies that showed how much more effective test-taking is than any other study method. I tried it myself in a few classes, and I had the easiest finals week of my life. I wanted to bring that life-changing experience to my peers, and I saw LA Hacks as an opportunity to reveal the greatest product ever created.

What it does

We offer a selection of tests in a variety of subjects that you can take at varying levels of difficulty that will be determined by Cohere's AI technology and displayed with Qualtrics Survey API.

How we built it

We used HTML, JS, PHP, CSS, curl, Qualtrics Survey APIs, Cohere's generating API, and custom models in Cohere

Challenges we ran into

Getting access to Qualtrics's API was the craziest technological experience we ever had. We spoke to 5 different mentors, phoned a friend who is 1000 miles away, almost accepted defeat, called up the sponsors. It was insane. But we got it, and we managed to embed it in our web app, and it looks awesome.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting Qualtrics and Cohere to work was amazing. Designing an incredible interface is the cherry on top.
