Inspiration
My team at Web3 Enabler ( https://web3enabler.com ) builds enterprise blockchain integrations to empower real businesses to send and receive cryptocurrency and stablecoin payments simply and safely using their existing enterprise infrastructure.
As a Salesforce Independent Software Vendor (ISV) partner, we are able to bring the benefits of blockchain technology to the Salesforce ecosystem, which is The industry leader in corporate CRM systems (25% market share) Approximately 4x bigger than their nearest competitor Utilized by 150,000 companies including 90% of the Fortune 500
We also offer free, open source white labeled applications, available both on the Salesforce AppExchange and as GitHub repositories for educational purposes, as well as visibility for specific Web3 ecosystems.
ADA Wallet for Salesforce is one of those open source projects, building on the Cardano blockchain, which we developed with a Cardano Catalyst ( https://projectcatalyst.io ) Fund 13 grant.
What it does
Web3 Enabler ADA Wallet for Salesforce is a Salesforce native Cardano wallet component.
Salesforce Administrators or financial advisors do not need to be Web3 knowledgeable to use ADA Wallet for Salesforce.
We urge Salesforce Administrators to read through this entire document at least twice. If you are new to Web3, some of the details may be unfamiliar to you. If you are experienced with Web3, you may find some of the simplifications we make in the interface shocking. We have focused on making the process as accessible as possible for individuals with all levels of blockchain and crypto understanding.
The app allows Salesforce users to do the following in a corporate setting. Set up the ADA Wallet Salesforce app in a Salesforce org Create a wallet set Create a wallet from a wallet set, configured with the required permission sets View/derive new unspent transaction output (UTXO) addresses as needed Receive ADA Sign and Send ADA transactions View sent transactions
How I built it
Based on my team’s experience developing past blockchain integration projects for the Salesforce ecosystem, we broke down the development of ADA Wallet for Salesforce into 3 main milestones (prototype UIs, data connectivity and business logic).
Challenges I ran into
Our greatest challenges building ADA Wallet for Salesforce were as follows. Finding Cardano libraries that worked for our needs that integrate with the Salesforce Lightning Web Component and Salesforce security system: We were thrilled to finally find Blockfrost ( https://blockfrost.io ), which worked well to fit our needs. Embedding those properly, so that we can build out the full workflow automation: After several dedicated meetings and ongoing research, Spencer, our Lead Engineer, and Gleb, our Salesforce development specialist, we’re able to get the flows working to provide users with automated Slack and email notifications, as well as other features we look forward to enhancing as part of future projects. We learned the hard way that Salesforce has recently redone their process for open source project applications. This took a few weeks and support tickets, and multiple employees at Salesforce to get approval for both the English and Japanese language AppExchanges. Our persistence finally resulted in the approval of the listings, the contracts being set up and currently having everything submitted for Salesforce security review.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of
ADA Wallet for Salesforce is the first open source, white label app we have successfully submitted to the Salesforce AppExchange. With a Cardano centric app in the AppExchange, we can start the adoption process.
Our CEO, Alex, and I had the pleasure of participating in multiple Cardano / Catalyst X Spaces during the development of ADA Wallet for Salesforce and in planning for / promoting our ongoing partnership with Cardano. They both received some very positive feedback and enthusiasm about what our Salesforce integrations mean for enterprise adoption of Cardano.

What I learned
The challenges we faced when developing ADA Wallet for Salesforce and navigating the Salesforce AppExchange submission/review process, ended up serving as great learning and growth opportunities for our team. Consider the following examples of how the process of addressing these challenges ended up being a blessing in disguise. We got to learn how simple Blockfrost is to use and promote Blockfrost among corporate IT leaders in the Salesforce ecosystem by making it a core part of our product. We are set to launch ADA Wallet for Salesforce as our first white label product on the Salesforce AppExchange, which will bring major exposure to the Cardano ecosystem.

What's next for ADA Wallet for Salesforce
We plan to build a fully featured Cardano payment rails app, which will serve as an open source “Cardano for Salesforce” application, which will offer free access to an MVP and promote drive traction to the project and awareness about the Cardano ecosystem.
Our existing ADA Wallet for Salesforce tool allows you to create/import a wallet with the seed phrase, and create, sign, and send transactions. The full fledged Cardano solution MVP will include features that enable Salesforce users to do the following. Connect a Wallet with just the Public Key Connect Vendor Wallets for Sending Funds Connect incoming Payments to Orders, Invoices, Sales Order, Payment Requests Connect Outgoing Payments (refunds) to Orders, Invoices, Sales Order, Payment Requests Connect Outgoing Payments (Vendors) to Bills, Payment Requests, etc. Scheduled or Real Time Updating of all UTXOs Provide tooling for external linking of Wallets Provide a framework for incorporating on-ramp and off-ramp tooling into the system.
We plan to include these Cardano payment rails in Blockchain Payments ( https://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=ee4c011b-7a5b-4a50-91fb-f28049390858 ), which has a subscription-based SaaS model for enterprise users on the Salesforce AppExchange, in addition to the open source version. This commercial SaaS offering will include marketing efforts.
