Inspiration

Inspired by an event in a game called Arknights which focused on humanity's struggles for the stars, and the various ways hunger of knowledge and certainty affects each one of us.

  • Light mode: inspired by 1960's engineering designs (engineering paper background) with retro futuristic designs incorporated throughout
  • Dark mode: Inspired by 1980's ms-dos and other DOS systems as well as Matrix's falling green characters ## What it does
  • Emulation of Google Calendar, where you can log events and tasks without worry of privacy breaches
  • CRUD of tasks and events ## How we built it MERN stack ## Challenges we ran into Setting up the MERN stack was very difficult, and it was only with the help of the various mentors that I was able to complete a product which I am proud of. Thank so very much ## Accomplishments that we're proud of I was able to code a full-stack with working front and back-end even though I was unfamiliar with React and concept of back-end as a whole, in under 24 hours. ## What we learned It was thanks to vibe coding that I was able to do this much, but I was able to learn many valuable lessons that I can carry forward in the future, such as setting up a MERN stack, how to make a good back-end, etc. ## What's next for Ad Astra - Future of Calendar I would like to focus on implementing weekly-goals where you can track how much sleep you have for example. Furthermore, I would like to host it on the cloud such that I can access it anywhere from my phone, to my ipad, to my laptop, replacing the need for google calendar.
