Inspiration

We noticed the lack of movement and activities in one's day-to-day life since COVID-19. This could contribute to one's mental health problems. According to a study by Harvard Medical School, regular exercise can reduce anxiety, depressive symptoms, and may boost mood. Therefore, we wanted to create a platform where people who have sat around all-day, can exercise. Actimind provides activities users can perform during their unmotivating days.

What it does

The web app Actimind provides emotional support by allowing the end-user to see how things in other people's lives don't go as planned either. It gives users a place to find what activities they want to do based on the amount of time they have, whether they prefer to carry out the activity indoors or outdoors and how high they want the intensity they want it to be. In addition, we have an Extra Guidance section because we believe that they should still have the resources to call or email a professional in case they need to.

How we built it

We built Actimind (or not) using Javascript(the React framework), HTML, CSS, and Figma. (Plus a lot of coffee)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of our design and idea. It showed us how important the UX is in a project.

What's next for Uplift

Another feature we hope to add is a progress section where users can see how they've progressed since using this web app. It should include a calendar along with the total number of missions (activities) completed. In addition, we aspire to add a feature that allows users and therapists to add missions. We hope Actimind will continue to grow in users.
