We came up with ACT4EARTH because climate change is making farming more difficult, especially when weather conditions keep changing. We wanted to create something useful that could help farmers in Andhra Pradesh understand climate conditions and plan their crops better.
We built our prototype using Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON datasets. It includes an interactive climate map, weather scenario simulations, and crop-planning features to help users explore different farming possibilities.
One of our biggest challenges was keeping the interface simple while bringing all the features together. We also worked on making the application easy to use and deploy.
While building this project, we learned how to connect frontend and backend technologies and organize data without using an SQL database.
Our goal is to make climate information easier to understand and help farmers make smarter, more sustainable farming decisions.
ACT4EARTH is a climate-smart agriculture prototype that helps farmers make better farming decisions based on weather and crop conditions. It provides rainfall forecasts, temperature insights, climate risk maps, and water availability information. Farmers can explore crop recommendations, create crop plans, and manage crop quantities based on their needs. The prototype also includes English and Telugu support, a demo officer mode, and saved plans to make farming support more accessible.
