Inspiration
The Acil Numaralar: Turkey app was designed to provide quick and easy access to essential phone numbers in case of emergencies in Turkey. We were inspired by the challenges people face during natural disasters, technical issues, or personal emergencies when it’s difficult to reach critical phone numbers. We wanted to create a solution that could help users find the numbers they need, even when the internet is down or during moments of panic.
What it does
Acil Numaralar brings together all official and private emergency numbers in Turkey. The app allows users to access these numbers even without an internet connection. It offers one-touch calling for important services like healthcare, security, technical support, banks, and appliance companies. Users can also mark their favorite numbers and create personalized lists for quicker access.
How we built it
The app was developed using Swift and SwiftUI. In the background, Google AdMob was integrated for ad support, and we leveraged Swift's powerful features to optimize the user experience. Additionally, in-app purchase processes were managed through RevenueCat. We integrated a search feature that enables users to find the numbers they need quickly. Language support and customizable options were added to enhance the user experience. The development process was organized using Agile methodologies, with version control managed through Git.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was optimizing a large list of phone numbers to provide a fast and effective search experience. We also focused on ensuring the app could function smoothly even without an internet connection by utilizing local data storage. Testing the app across different devices to ensure compatibility also took considerable effort.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the app’s ability to work offline and allow users to create personalized lists of important numbers. By offering quick access in emergencies, we’ve made users' lives a bit easier. Additionally, we are proud of the user-friendly interface and robust infrastructure that we believe will be well-received by a broad audience.
What we learned
Through this project, we gained valuable insights into creating more optimized and user-friendly interfaces using SwiftUI. We also learned how practical and effective it can be to integrate with services like RevenueCat. Speed and reliability in user experience-focused development proved to be critical lessons for us.
What's next for Acil Numaralar: Türkiye
In the future, we plan to add more language options, offer additional customization features, and continuously improve the app based on feedback from our users. We also aim to work on adding regional emergency numbers and allowing users to add their own personal numbers for even more convenience.
