Inspiration
ACE was inspired by personal experience. As an Italian student, I was not aware of international academic pathways like the IB Diploma until it was too late to fully take advantage of them. This lack of awareness made it harder to plan my studies and future.
This problem is not unique—many students and families around the world are unaware of IB, AP, or A-Level opportunities early enough. ACE was created to solve this by making global academic options more visible and easier to understand.
What it does
ACE is a platform that helps students and families discover and compare IB, AP, and A-Level programs at schools worldwide. It provides a centralized way to explore schools, subjects, and academic paths that are often difficult to access or compare across countries.
The goal is to give students clarity early, so they can make better decisions about their education and future.
How we built it
ACE started as a mentorship club at Foxcroft Academy (ME), where we meet weekly to help students understand IB and AP subjects, share experiences, and answer questions.
To expand this idea globally, I built a website using Lovable, turning a local initiative into a platform accessible to students and families anywhere in the world.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges was starting something new within a school environment, including organizing the club and speaking in front of others.
Building the platform also required time, consistency, and learning how to transform an idea into something real and useful.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The ACE club has grown to over 30 members at Foxcroft Academy, showing strong interest and engagement from students.
We successfully turned a local mentorship initiative into a global platform that can help students beyond our school.
What we learned
Through building ACE, I learned how to identify a real problem and turn it into a practical solution. I also developed skills in communication, organization, and thinking from the perspective of users.
Most importantly, I learned that personal challenges can be turned into opportunities to help others.
What’s next for ACE
The goal is to expand ACE into a global platform.
Future plans include:
- Adding more schools and programs worldwide
- Introducing a network of student tutors from different countries, so users can receive guidance from someone with a similar background
- Partnering with international education agencies to help students take the next step toward studying abroad
- Developing a sustainable model, such as allowing schools to be featured on the platform
The long-term vision is to make international education more accessible, personalized, and globally connected.
