Inspiration

•Since there are many people loosing their lives because of accidents we came up with an idea of fixing cameras on the top next to the traffic lights.As soon as accident occurs due to sensors sound will be detected and hence , the messages can be sent to near by police station and hospitals.

What it does

•The idea of our project is Cameras can be fixed on the roads beside the traffic signals.A sensor will be connected to a camera,as soon as an accident occurs, the sensors gets activated from the sound that occurs due to accidents and it starts capturing video of the accidents and this particular video could be shared to the nearby police station since it could be helpful to reach out to the accident occurred and also to the nearby hospitals.

How we built it

•The Problem Statement-It deals with the issue of 1)Traffic Management and 2)Accident Detection. •The Solution Statement-For the issue of Traffic Management and Accident Detection could be -> 1)Smart Traffic Management-It manages the excess traffic flow and 2)Real-time Accident Detection-By detecting real-time,the response time to such events can be reduced drastically.

Challenges we ran into

•The most Challenging task for us was to Identify the criteria of the accidents occurring.Then we discussed that if we could add Cameras beside the traffic lights then with the help of sensors then a notification will be sent to the police station and nearby hospitals regarding the accident video. •The most important and the basic reason for the accidents that occur is due to the speed that the vehicles are being driven.Most lives could be saved if emergency services could get their information and reach to the accident spot in time. •The challenging task is to make use of Camera Surveillance Video which provides us a lot of Information , and the content could be more clear if it is visual.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

•The Video Surveillance technique could be considered as cost effective. •The camera we will be considering for this project will be a night vision camera. •The hard task was to plan to add the sensors which detects sound that occurs due to the accident happening.As soon as the sensor detects sound when the accident occurs ,the video will start recording. •Also the idea of sending the message to the nearby hospitals and police stations would help in saving the lives of people meeting with the accidents.

What we learned

•To add sensors that detect sound to camera ,also the messages to be sent to the nearby police station and hospitals.

What's next for Accident Detection Using Camera Surveillance Video

•To make the project work in real we are planning to add sensors to the camera ,also it will detect sound using sensors and this will be sent to the nearby hospitals and police station.
