Inspiration
I am newly learning css and html and i wanted something that helps people with disabilities without being complex for me, and i thought this idea which uses css styles to make a diffrence may be helpful
What it does
it basically applies css styles(Dyslexia, high contrast, font size) to the text the user wants to read more comfortably , and provides an option for the text to be read by web speech api
How we built it
I used claude ai sonnet 4.6 model to build this
Challenges we ran into
The web speech api was not working on my own browser (brave) so i though there was a problem in the code and was trying to fix it, but i figured out its a brave specific problem not a problem in the code.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
That i made a website that may help someone some day
What we learned
I learnt how even a simple css style change can make a helpful tool and i learnt about how javascripts listen and apply styles
What's next for AccessiText
maybe we can add some more accessibility features
Built With
- claude
- css
- html
- javascript
