Inspiration

We were inspired to do this as we enjoy driving and want to make sure those who are disabled to be able to do it as well.

What it does

It makes driving more accessible for amputees so they are have the freedom that we have.

How we built it

We built it using an Arduino, joysticks, gyroscope, stepper motor, and display.

Challenges we ran into

Sleep Deprivation, Limited limited test hardware, Unreliable Gyroscopic sensor output and libraries, No straightforward method to clean up device, Issues finding appropriate wiring diagram software, Difficulty inventing a control system that requires no grip in order to operate.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get it working in such a short time.

What we learned

There's a multitude of disabilities and it's very hard to make something accessible for all.

What's next for Accessible Car

Add additional aids and possibly make it modular so people with other disabilities can use it as well.
