Inspiration

The world is rich with diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences. However, many people never get the opportunity to explore these differences due to geographical, social, or economic barriers. CultureVibe was inspired by the idea of bringing the world closer together by allowing people from different backgrounds to share their cultural experiences through photos. Our goal is to foster understanding, inclusivity, and appreciation of diverse cultures.

What it does

CultureVibe is a social media app that allows users to share and explore cultural experiences through photo posts. Users can:

  • Post Photos: Share photos of cultural events, traditions, food, attire, and more. Update whenever you want.
  • Like, Comment, and Save: Engage with other users' posts by liking, commenting, and saving them to personal collections.
  • Explore: Discover cultural experiences from around the world through the explore feature.
  • Edit Profile: Customize their profiles with personal information and cultural background.
  • Top Creater: Highlight users who engage most with content by reading and interacting.
  • Follow/Unfollow: Follow other users to see their posts in your feed and build a community.
  • Login/Sign Out: Securely log in and out of their accounts.

How we built it

We built CultureVibe using the following technologies:

  • Frontend: Developed with React for a dynamic and responsive user interface.
  • Backend: Utilized Appwrite, an open-source backend server, for authentication, database management, and storage.
  • Styling: Applied TailwindCSS for modern, responsive, and customizable design.

Challenges we ran into

  • User Engagement: Keeping users engaged and encouraging them to share their cultural experiences required thoughtful feature design and regular updates.
