🔥 Inspiration

In every room, there's someone who naturally captivates attention—not because they talk the most, but because they say the most interesting things. We asked ourselves: what if anyone could be that person? What if you walked into a room already equipped with relevant, high-signal stories, data points, historical trivia, and thought-provoking angles tailored to your context?

Accelerator was born out of this ambition—to make charisma and curiosity accessible.

💡 What it does

Accelerator is your AI-powered prep tool for conversations, meetings, parties, and everything in between. Based on your calendar, location, interests, and recent trends, it curates:

• Personalized news: Not generic headlines, but stories that you would bring up.
• Historical hooks: Events that happened on this day in history—contextualized to your setting.
• Smart data: Surprising, relevant stats and figures for intellectual ammo.
• Conversation starters: High-engagement prompts based on what people around you are discussing.

All served in a sleek, swipeable interface just before your key social moments.

🛠 How we built it

We used Bolt to rapidly prototype the front end and data workflows. Key components:

• LLM personalization engine: Built on top of GPT with custom embeddings for user interests and social context.
• Contextual triggers: Integrations with Google Calendar, Maps, and browsing history to predict where and when you’ll need information.
• Content pipelines: RSS feeds, historical databases, and APIs filtered and ranked for surprise, relevance, and conversational value.
• Delivery UX: Designed mobile-first, with optional WhatsApp delivery for on-the-go access.

🧱 Challenges we ran into

• Signal vs. noise: Surfacing genuinely interesting insights from massive datasets without overwhelming the user.
• Timing: Delivering prep at the right moment—not too early, not too late.
• Personalization depth: Going beyond shallow interests like “tech” or “fashion” to infer actual conversation DNA.
• Data context: Many APIs lacked cultural or situational nuance, requiring handcrafted layers.

• The value of contextual timing in AI—what you say is less important than when you say it.

• Micro-utility apps—tiny tools with sharp value—can punch far above their weight.

• Launch on WhatsApp & iMessage: Make Accelerator feel less like an app, more like a smart friend whispering gold in your ear.
