TL,DR
"Last Ticketing System" – that’s a bold statement. We know! But what would you call a ticket-system that is owned by artists and fans and paid for by resellers? That's quite the opposite of what's out there right now!
Inspiration
Acceth is inspired by our Web2 COVID19-Solution for events, which we developed for Frankfurt Municipality in the heart of Europe during the first Corona-Summer of 2020. The old solution was successfully tested with 3,000 users at 15 musical events (ranging from Techno to Jazz) at Tanz Haus West.
However, user data quickly piled up. Not before long, we were asked to share sensible user data with authorities on a regular basis. That was the turning point to discontinue the old solution: We left the centralised Web2 world to build the last ticket system where artists and fans make their own rules. We are prepared to add COVID19-measures adapted to local health code in the future, but have not integrated them in the current solution.
Crypto 1st Approach!
Today, most Crypto Events still greet their prospective attendees with a Web2-Ticket-System. The reason is simple: They need to pay their bills in FIAT and hence are pressed to generate FIAT cashflows from Paypal and creditcards.
As of the first quarter of 2022, there are 100 million mobile crypto users in the EU and U.S. combined, not counting another 80 million mobile crypto useres in Latin America. The accelleration of crypto adoption aorund the globe is what encourages us. Hence, we started by kicking the habbit of integrating a Paypal Button as we set out to convince organisers of crypto events to put their money where their mouth is. Events are a typical way to create value in communities.
Mobile 1st Approach!
We built Acceth on the Celo Network. Celo is an EVM compatible, mobile first, and carbon-negative fork built by 3 MIT founders and funded by Silcon Valley investors. We simply like that it's fast, that gas prices are low, and want users to take their tickets with them on their mobile device.
Connecting to Celo Alfajores Testnet
At the current stage, Acceth.com lives on Celo Network's Alfajores Testnet. We automatically connect your MetaMask to it once you click on connect.
To buy test tickets you need some test money. Here's the Faucet for you.
To see your test tickets, add contract 0x70F418463d107D51377d57D875f82f36e6326239 Token: TT Decimal: 0
Blockchain-agnostic Approach
We just want Events to be better, and are not married to any particular network. Once Celo works for us well enough, we will deploy on other blockchains as well.
We are Leapfrogging!
Our aim is to integrate with people’s Web2 lifes and pick them up just where they are. We think that life Events present a great opportunity to onboard millions of crypto noobs seamlessly.
Over the medium-term, we will solve two simple Problems for them a) paying for tickets in their preferred token and b) swap them under the eyes of their Event Organisers, but like a lose Wristband on a secondary market.
We provide utility online and offline – always with a real world impact.
The Last Ticket System!
This is how the last ticket system will work:
- Artist Bob hosts an event at Acceth.com
- Fan Alice buys a ticket using her Web3 Wallet paying 0% fees
- Reseller Charlie pays 9.9% in fees to the Acc.Eth DAO, as he bought 10 Tickets, but can only use one
- Alice and the other Fans show up at the door and scan their ticket from their mobile
- Every time Bob scans a ticket, a Heart Token is transferred to his wallet automatically
- Many Bobs using their Hearts Token to govern the Acc.Eth DAO (e.g. to set new fees or set limits on the secondary market.
--> Alice, the Fan, doesn't have to change her ways and gains utility as she's now more flexible with her purchase --> Bob, the Artits, finally has a real incentive to check tickets as, if he wants to get sway over resellers through the DAO --> Charlie pays only 9.9% on the secondary market, where the current average is 15%-20% in fees.
*Everybody wins, if the right roles do the right things. Sorry, Ticketmaster! *
We give birth to a community culture where Fans and Artists work together at eye-level. With all of your help, we will drain the red ocean of reselling. It’s a blue ocean for Web3 Users like you and me.
White Paper
There is a White Paper, which we last updated at EthDenver.
What Acceth DAO does
- Connect to Acceth.com
- Automatic redirect to Alfajores Testnet
- Change Profile
- Create Event (Attention: You can only edit 1 time in this present version, no changes)
- Create Tickets (preset)
- Buy Ticket
How we built it
We are a small team of 3 Developers working agile: We take it week by week.
Challenges we ran into
We could have been fast testing it all, but all the Events were cancelled during COVID19...
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Winner EthDenver22 mobile-first track ColoradoJam Award by the State of Colorado Web3 Foundation Award Fellows of Celo Camp
What we learned
The Anna Karenina principle states that a deficiency in any one of a number of factors dooms an endeavor to failure. Consequently, a successful endeavor (subject to this principle) is one for which every possible deficiency has been avoided.
What's next for Acc.Eth DAO - The Last Ticket System
We trying to launch Acc.Eth DAO this summer and list at least 10 Web 3 festivals as customers.
