Inspiration
As students in general, we have a hard time looking for free textbooks and good mentors, and know that other students struggle with the same issue. But especially since we just entered HS, we're scouting different university pathways and we found that it takes a lot of time and effort. Moreover, due to the stress and pressure, this generation is prone to suffer from mental health issues.
What it does
Acadexia is a website/community/study buddy that aids students in finding resources they might need (books, mentors, scholarships, or counselling). It is also useful for passionate mentors/tutors/counsellors who are looking for jobs.
How we built it
We used HTML and CSS, and we included some Google forms, as well as Discord and Gmail for the contacts
Challenges we ran into
Time constraints, not enough experience, and limited coding background
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to make a proper website as a team, and we're pretty proud of how the website turned out, given that this is our first working website, and we even did it all with code. 🥳
What we learned
We learnt to work as a team and collaborate on our first website. We also learnt to work under the pressure of the limited given time. And of course, we can't forget that we learnt how to code (and that it is not an easy task 😅).
What's next for Acadexia
A continuous improvement/update/progress on our website, and getting it to actually run and become a proper website, whilst working with people who have used our website, to make sure that it is reachable, usable, and helpful to others who may want to use it. We plan to also start marketing it (through trending social medias like IG or TikTok, or by sending out flyers to tutoring centres and schools) so that all students from Indonesia are able to know and be benefited from our website.
