Inspiration
Students often have study materials scattered across PDFs, notes, and previous-year questions. Understanding these materials quickly and preparing for exams can be difficult and time-consuming.
I built Acadex as an AI-powered study companion that helps students interact with their academic material in a simpler way.
What it does
Acadex allows students to work with their study material and use AI-powered features such as:
- Summarizing study material
- Explaining difficult concepts in simple language
- Generating important questions for exam preparation
- Asking questions directly about the uploaded study material
The goal is to make studying more interactive, focused, and accessible.
How I built it
Acadex was built using Python and Streamlit, with AI functionality integrated through the OpenAI API. The application provides a simple interface where students can access different study features without needing technical knowledge.
Challenges I faced
One of the main challenges was connecting the AI functionality with academic documents while keeping the experience simple for students. I also worked on making the interface easy to navigate and suitable for quick exam preparation.
What I learned
Through this project, I learned how to build and deploy an AI-powered educational application, integrate AI APIs into a practical product, and design a user experience around a real student problem.
Future improvements
I would like to expand Acadex with better document processing, personalized study plans, progress tracking, quiz generation, and more reliable question answering from academic resources.
