Inspiration

Today's keynote speaker Ali Partovi labeled himself as a degenerate risk taker and while we wouldn't put ourselves in that category his speech inspired us. In order to follow in Ali's footsteps and help other students we created academic options!

What it does

Academic options is a website that collects data on the classes you and your friends are taking and compiles it in one place it then predicts the class average on the next test students are then allowed to buy options for whether they think the test average will be higher or lower than the predicted average. If the student predicts the right outcome they double their money otherwise they lose it all! An exciting game of chance for all ages (except for those under 18 or living outside the state of michigan)

How we built it

We used the following technologies: -capital one api for payment systems -canvas api for sample data -js html css for front end -python back end -.tech domain name -flow token as second payment option

Challenges we ran into

During construction of our project we ran into issues with flask requests allowing our back end and front end to communicate we also ran into problems implementing the flow token payment system.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We as a team are proud that we were able to work with both the capital one and canvas api and work together as a team to create something we think you will love

What we learned

We learned alot about working as a team as well as how to collaborate effectively using github along with how to use the canvas and capital one apis
