What Inspired Me
Abracadabra began with the idea of modern magic — not wands or spells, but the illusions we create emotionally, visually, and sonically. I was inspired by the tension between desire and deception, by the way music can feel like a trick of the light that reveals truth and hides it at the same time. The energy of dark disco and surreal pop set the foundation for the entire piece.
What I Learned
Creating this project taught me how powerful contrast can be. Light vs. shadow, sweetness vs. danger, glamour vs. distortion. I learned to weave mystery into rhythm — using small sonic surprises, sudden shifts, and atmospheric flourishes to make the track feel alive. I also learned how to strengthen storytelling through minimal lyrics: a few well-placed words can feel like a spell.
How I Built the Project
The song was built through a layered process: dark disco-inspired basslines to give the track its pulse shimmering synth textures to recreate the feeling of magic unfurling echoed vocals to create an atmosphere of seduction and illusion surreal AI-generated imagery to support the visual narrative tight cinematic pacing to keep the track mysterious but driving Every element was chosen to make the listener feel pulled into a spell — caught between dance and dream.
Challenges I Faced
The main challenge was tone: I wanted the song to feel magical without becoming whimsical, dark without losing elegance, energetic without losing its mysterious edge. Balancing these emotions required a lot of refinement. Another challenge was creating a sound that feels both modern and timeless — a track that could exist in a nightclub, in a dream, or in a surreal film sequence.
