Our website is aimed at college students looking to celebrate events digitally during COVID-19. The pandemic has severely impacted campus life and students’ mental health, and many feel lonely and have limited social interactions with their peers. With Ephemeral, students have the opportunity to vent their frustrations, celebrate with strangers, play online games and more, over video, audio, and text.
Signing up requires an .edu email, and although users do not know others’ information, we have access to their student emails and can report them and their behavior to their schools if necessary.
Some may be looking for only momentary connections with strangers, so we’ve created opportunities for anonymous interactions. Anonymous interactions (with text/audio) will have a chat ID and randomized display name, so anonymous users can still report others if they feel uncomfortable. Others looking for new friends are welcome to join our personal connections page.
