Inspiration - Students across different institutions want to sell their used textbooks, gadgets that they might not require after completing a certain course work. Usually it is difficult to find other potential students who might be taking a similar course and looking to buy cheap, affordable resources. Having dealt with a similar situation myself as a student, me and my friend decided to create a platform with the aim to reduce the hassle for students to buy and sell used resources.
TextBooq is a web based application that provides a platform for students looking to buy and sell their educational resources at cheap and affordable prices.
The frontend of the website was built using HTML and CSS. PHP was used in the backend development.
Setting up the database environment and connecting to the localhost. There were also issues with maintaining the data about the products a potential student was looking to sell without assigning a unique identification to them. In order to accommodate this requirement we had to change the initial structure of our table.
Learnt how to accept a unique username along with matching the correct passwords with each login. Creating a session for each login.
Next at TextBooq we plan to develop on functionality of the website, adding more features to provide a better user experience.
