Inspiration

Mental health is as important as any other health issues but somewhere down the lane we all neglect it even when we go through a lot of hardships in our daily lives. We thought of creating this platform as we have also been through some unavoidable circumstances and it was very difficult to get out of it alone.

What it does

We have created the platform to be a safe space so that one can share the ups and downs of life and also help others. We will be having three main sections in our app which will direct the users to the activity they want to explore. Firstly we have a one on one chat section where people with similar troubles can help each other to understand and deal with the situation better. Secondly a place where one who can write and post their stories Lastly a section where we will enlist various affordable mental healthcare services available in India at one place. We have kept the UI of our app very user friendly so that everyone get benefited by it in the best possible way.

How we built it

We used following tech stacks: Android studio, Java, XML, Firebase database.

Challenges we ran into

It was difficult to understand and implement things in very short period of time . But overall it was fun .

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we had accomplished following feature in our app:-

*One on one conversation Feature : Everyone can help someone just by being there at the right moment. Listening and sharing sometimes can be the best weapon against mental health. One on one conversation with someone going through the same problems may help you understand and deal with the situation in a better way.

*Post Feature: Users can post their stories related to what they are going through or how they dealt with a particular adversity and can read the related posts.

What's next for Aasha App

We are also planning to add search filter where users can search for people and posts accordingly. And some feature like forget password , article reading etc. to make our app more attractive.
