Inspiration
Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet it often goes unnoticed and unaddressed. AASARA was born out of the desire to create a safe, supportive and empowering space for individuals to :-
Prioritize self-care without judgment. Access professional help with ease. Connect with others who understand their journey. Engage in daily practices that foster mental well-being.
We envision a world where mental wellness is accessible, stigma-free and part of everyday life.
What it does
AASARA – meaning support – is more than just an app; it’s a companion for mental health. Built to provide personalized care, community engagement, and professional support, AASARA integrates :-
Adaptive tools like mood trackers and meditation prompts. Live therapy through chat, audio, and video calls. Motivational features such as daily challenges and rewards. Resources including blogs, articles, and workshops. Confidentiality through anonymous usage and encrypted data. Our goal is to help users develop mental strength, track their growth, and find solace in shared experiences. With AASARA, you’re never alone on your journey to mental wellness.
How we can build it
We can start with Front-end of the app, creating interactive UI/UX for the user, even if it is a beginner. Thus, an easy and linear flow of access and navigation can be achieved with great number of participation. The UI/UX creation of the platform will require HTML, CSS, Javascript, React.js, etc. Backend can be easily created using SQL, PHP, Node.js, etc.
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring consistent user engagement can be difficult, especially for individuals struggling with motivation. But we can overcome this issue by incorporating gamification of daily tasks, using achievements and badges for the users who achieve a better progress. Ensuring privacy is difficult to achieve here. Matching users with their respective therapists may take time.
Accomplishments that can be achieved
Collaborated with mental health professionals, therapists and wellness coaches to create valuable resources can be counted as a good achievements towards facilitating healthy space for people facing mental challenges. The platform gives a complete review and statistics of the user's mental and social health, along with the feedbacks from all of them, thus helps to improvise the platform periodically.
What we learned
Users engage more consistently when they feel the platform understands their unique mental health needs. Facilitating non-judgmental forums and support groups helps reduce feelings of isolation and promotes healing. Thus, we all must try to create a safe space for people who may be or will be facing mental issues and stress.
What's next for AASARA - Your Safe Space
In the future, we can develop an AI chatbot capable of providing 24/7 mental health support, offering coping strategies, relaxation exercises and check-ins.
The current functionality of daily check-ins only takes mediation, exercises and physical activities into consideration. We look forwards to expand this to a feature to help users create and track daily routines that improve mental well-being, such as sleep hygiene, journaling, content user consumes and more.
We look forward to integrate VR environments for immersive relaxation, guided meditation and virtual counseling sessions. Users can access calming virtual spaces to reduce anxiety and practice mindfulness.
We may expand the wearables to sync with Apple Watch, Fitbit, and other wearable devices to track heart rate variability, sleep quality, and physical activity, correlating it with mental health metrics.
