Inspiration
We were inspired by the challenges people in rural and underserved communities face when trying to access public healthcare services. Sometimes healthcare services are available, but people may not know where to go, what services are available, or whom to contact. We wanted to create a solution that makes healthcare access simpler, more connected, and easier to understand.
What it does
Aarogya Samaj is a community-focused healthcare platform that helps people connect with the right public healthcare services. It brings together citizens, ASHA workers, doctors, and district administrators in one connected system.
Citizens can get guidance about healthcare services, while ASHA workers and healthcare professionals can support and coordinate healthcare needs more effectively. The platform aims to reduce confusion, unnecessary travel, and delays in accessing the right care.
How we built it
We designed Aarogya Samaj as a web-based platform with separate workflows for different users. We focused on creating a simple and user-friendly experience that makes healthcare information and coordination easier.
We built the project using modern web technologies, APIs, and a database to manage information and communication between different parts of the system. Our main focus was to create a practical prototype that demonstrates how technology can improve access to public healthcare.
Challenges we ran into
One of our biggest challenges was designing a solution for a complex real-world problem while keeping it simple and easy to use. Different users have different needs, so creating a connected workflow for citizens, ASHA workers, doctors, and administrators required careful planning.
We also faced the challenge of balancing innovative ideas with practical implementation and ensuring that our solution focused on real user needs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of creating a solution that brings multiple healthcare stakeholders together on one platform. Instead of focusing on only one user, Aarogya Samaj considers the entire healthcare access journey.
We are also proud that our project focuses on practical social impact and addresses a problem that can affect millions of people in rural and underserved communities.
What we learned
Through this project, we learned that technology alone cannot solve healthcare challenges. A successful solution must also understand people, existing systems, and real-world limitations.
We learned the importance of user-centered design, teamwork, research, and building solutions that are both innovative and practical.
What's next for Aarogya Samaj
We plan to further develop Aarogya Samaj by improving the platform based on feedback from communities and healthcare workers. In the future, we hope to integrate real healthcare service data, add more language accessibility, and strengthen coordination between different healthcare stakeholders.
Our vision is to create a scalable solution that helps every person access the right healthcare service at the right time.
