Inspiration

It is no secret, that the inspiration for our project came from Mantle, that proposed the idea of Allowing people to easily create and mint NFTs on Mantle testnet, where the image is uploaded to IPFS. That inspired us to focus only on minting NFTs. No talking about the marketplace, no unnecessary options and wasting user's time on distractions like asking them for usernames and emails. What options does a user have, if their only goal is to simply mint an NFT as quickly as possible? We researched it, and turns out that focus of every minting platform lays acctually on selling. That is why we took a different approach, putting the need for quick and easy mint at the center of our attention.

What it does

Our project, called SprintMint, does exactly what it says! It allows user to quickly mint an NFT. Right after connecting your wallet, importing your file and giving it a title you are able to create an NFT.

Features

  • Mint-in-a-Minute Our easy-to-use interface and state-of-the-art backend mean you can mint your NFTs in under a minute. Just connect your wallet and you are ready to go.
  • Layer 2 Mantle Support Worried about high transaction costs? Our platform incorporates Layer 2 Mantle solution to make sure you enjoy lower fees without compromising on the security or integrity of your NFTs.
  • Zero Coding Required You don't need to be a programmer to mint NFTs. Our platform is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, requiring zero coding skills.
  • User-friendly interface for easy navigation.

How we built it

Part 1 - UX

We followed a classic UX design thinking process. Starting with defining a problem statement (in short: "Users need a simple and efficient solution to mint NFTs quickly without navigating the complexities of existing blockchain platforms."), then doing benchmark, creating user personas and so on, we came up with SprintMint. We created a prototype in Figma and designed a logo.

Part 2 - tech

Frontend Technologies

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • React
  • JavaScrips

Backend Technologies

  • IPFS
  • Solidity
  • Node.js
  • Hardhat
  • Mantle blockchain
  • Metamask

Challenges we ran into

-Deploying the contract on Mantle -Setting proper ABI -Setting the gas after IPFS image upload

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • developing new understanding of the L2 deploy
  • proper UX research on competition and benchmark
  • creating a working DAPP!!!

What we learned

Key takeaways from our project emphasize the importance of easy and quick NFT creation for achieving mass adoption. NFTs have evolved beyond mere digital assets, potentially becoming repositories for sentimental collectibles, diplomas, certificates, or achievements. Additionally, gifting NFTs for special occasions or event tickets is an underrated opportunity. Our extensive research and benchmarking revealed that many existing platforms suffer from user experience issues. They tend to be overly complex, alienating newcomers and often prioritize buying and selling over NFT creation. Sprint Mint stands out as a user-friendly solution, offering a helping hand to beginners keen on diving into the world of NFT creation.

What's next for SprintMint

A significant future direction would involve developing a feature that facilitates instant transfers to various wallets, shifting the focus from trading to sharing NFTs. Also implementation of other files like txt, pdf, docs, etc. New storage providers.
