Inspiration
Heavily inspired by Dungeons And Dragons (The game from stranger things), dicey dungeon, slay the spire and for the king. A combination of my favourite elements from all to create a truly magical game.
What it does
Turn based rougelite where you select spells to go into combat with, roll dice to hit, roll dice for damage and defeat the enemy using damage, buffs or protection.
How I built it
Unity and C# - all the models are imported from assets i previously bough so arent mine. Credit to Kenny Game Art for the assets.
Challenges we ran into
Modelling was something i wanted to try but didnt have the time. Otherwise went quite smoothly, except for becoming ill over the 24 hours.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The whole thing, came in thinking my game dev skills were abit rusty but ive still got it ! Also physic dice are always fun and using unity's particle system for the spells was new and really fun
What we learned
I really appreciate sleep. And Unity's Particle System is worth the hype and will defintlely use more to learn more as it seems pretty powerful.
What's next for A Wizard's Die
Polish polish polish. Add character animations and well characters. Hopefully get some of my mates to help with making original models and then design the next levels of the dungeon and more spells.
