Inspiration
After viewing one single Unity project in a third person environment, I was determined to create a game that mimicked this movement system, creating the same excitement I felt when I first played it.
What it does
A third person character is placed at the beginning of a maze. You must control the player using the WASD keys and the space bar, and navigate out of maze. From that point, you must ascend upon a series of floating platforms and parkour to the end of the map. However, if you fail any portion of this parkour, you will fall back into the maze, making this task a true challenge, for someone with a lot of time to waste.
How I built it
Ethan and I used a software called Unity to create the assets necessary to create the map.
Challenges I ran into
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
In 20 hours, I learned how to use a game creating software, and create a project of my own design.
What I learned
This taught me that nobody is incapable. I walked into this event, believing I would follow in the footsteps of one person, and ended up creating something very different from my initial belief.
What's next for A testament to the tenacity of man
I believe that this can help to inspire others, to do things that they previously believed they couldn't. With the right amount of caffeine and focus, anything is possible.
