Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from two main reasons. First, it's easy for students and learners to get distracted today. Second, many teachers and experts prefer to publish content on a platform tailored specifically for educational purposes. I wanted to create a dedicated space that minimizes distractions and maximizes educational value.

What it does

This social media site allows users to post and receive content related to education and learning.

How I built it

I built the platform using Python. The process was more complex than I initially thought, but I managed to create a functional prototype. Flask was used for the backend to handle user authentication, data management, and routing. The frontend was developed with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure a clean and user-friendly interface. A database was integrated to store user data, posts, and comments, enabling a seamless and interactive experience.

Challenges I ran into

I faced many challenges along the way, but the most significant one was the size of the project. This is among the first times (if not the first time) that I built a project with such a large system. Many things were disrupted during development due to other changes in the code. It has been a difficult journey, and I have now encountered some critical bugs that need to be resolved.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of successfully completing the project and the overall product. Creating a platform that bridges the gap between social media and education is a significant achievement. My real-time features and intuitive design make it easy for users to engage and learn. I also take pride in the positive feedback from my initial testers, who appreciated the focus on educational content and community support.

What I learned

One of the most important skills I developed was creating a better quality database, which will greatly benefit future projects.

What's next for A social media website for learning

Next, I plan to focus on fixing critical bugs and adding central features like a user database. Additionally, I aim to integrate a version of CHATGPT to enhance user interaction and provide personalized learning experiences. These updates will further solidify the platform as a comprehensive hub for education and community engagement.
