Inspiration

We wanted to create an enjoyable puzzle game with interesting mechanics that fit the theme of Halloween.

What it does

A Sliding Pumpkin is a puzzle game where the player needs to input a direction for the pumpkin to slide towards while getting closer to the goal (Candy) and avoiding the gravestones which are DEATH.

How we built it

We made this hack using the Unity game engine and the C# programming language.

Challenges we ran into

Coming up with interesting mechanics and scaling difficulty into the game, also using the unity physics engine for the first time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making a functioning game that we can show off proudly.

What we learned

How to use the physics engine in Unity, how to scale difficulty, and implementing mechanics.

What's next for A Sliding Pumpkin

More interesting mechanics in levels such as:

  • A clone that follows you around
  • Playing two levels at once that are controlled by the same movement
