Inspiration
Our team wanted to help nonprofits like Blue Star Mothers streamline the complex process of sending care packages to deployed service members. Automating the logistics would enable them to reach more recipients with their services.
What it does
This app allows organizations to easily collect shipment requests, manage inventory, generate shipping forms, and view deadlines.
How we built it
We used React for the frontend interface along with CSS and HTML. Firebase provides the backend via Firestore database and Auth system. Data workflows were implemented with React.
Challenges we ran into
Learning new technologies like React and Firebase under a tight timeline Scope creep resulting in some unfinished functionality Complex workflows difficult to fully implement within the hackathon timeframe Limited ability to style/polish UI with focus on functionality
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Completed core workflows like request collection, inventory management and shipping automation Developed modular frontend components for reusability Deployed a live webapp.
What we learned
Collaborating effectively as a team under tight deadlines Architecting complex workflows for inventory/order management Optimizing frontends for performance and scalability Prioritization is critical when scoping new features
What's next for A Project to Simplify and Speed Up the Delivery Process
