How we built it
We built the game using GameMaker, a 2D game engine. We each contributed a separate level to showcase our own creative ideas and weaved them into a cohesive story afterward.
Challenges we ran into
Getting used to a new game engine came with a lot of mechanical issues, especially with sprites. There were many challenges with sizing and scaling. Another major challenge was exporting everyone's individual levels and importing them into one project. Things were renamed and we had to go back through to fix all the different references.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of what we accomplished with GameMaker, since it was our first time making a game on our own with it. I think we're all also very proud of our pixel art.
What we learned
I think we all learned a lot about game development components and how they all work together, like sprites creating objects to hit other sprites, to name one example.
